If you are planning on pouring your own concrete for an at-home project, such as for a patio or a new driveway, then one thing that you might be worried about is not having the right equipment. You might have thought about mixing your concrete by hand, but you're sure to find that this isn't the right option. Luckily, a good equipment rental company will rent you a concrete mixer for the day or the weekend so that you can get your project done, and it shouldn't cost too much. If you're hesitant, consider these reasons to use a concrete mixer instead of mixing your concrete by hand.
1. Prevent Injury
Unfortunately, you can injure yourself by mixing your own concrete. Depending on how much concrete you are mixing up and how thick you make it, it can be backbreaking work to try to get a good mix. If you already have injuries or aren't used to this type of work, it could be harder than you think. Luckily, if you rent a good concrete mixer, you can save yourself a lot of work.
2. Get More Consistent Results
One of the main benefits of using a concrete mixer is the fact that you can get more consistent results. When mixing by hand, you'll probably have to make several separate batches, and each batch might not have the same consistency. Plus, it can be a lot harder to really mix up the concrete well when you're doing it by hand, so there may be wetter and dryer parts of your mixture. This can affect the quality of your poured concrete surface and can even cause you to waste materials, so you could have to buy more concrete mix and make another batch if one of your batches doesn't turn out right.
3. Save Time
Another huge benefit to renting a concrete mixer is the fact that you can save a lot of time. This can help you get the job completed much more quickly, so you can begin enjoying the benefits of your project a whole lot sooner. Plus, you won't have to worry about taking as much time from other projects.
If you are thinking about mixing up your own concrete for your upcoming project, you might want to reconsider your decision. These are a few of multiple reasons why it can be beneficial to rent a concrete mixer from an equipment rental company instead. Luckily, ready mix concrete will still make the job as easy as possible. For more information, contact Van Doren Red-E-Mix.Share

I own a small office building, and recently, I was looking for ways to improve the building's exterior. I felt that the whole office was very plain and lacked curb appeal. I want clients and business contacts to be impressed by the building and the grounds before they even step through the door. I knew that one thing I definitely needed to do was replace the crumbling walkway. I called a concrete contractor about fixing the walkway, and was impressed when he told me that I could actually make it look like a brick pathway, using stamped concrete. I decided to go for it, and it made a big difference in the appearance of the outside of the office. I think that more people should be aware of how they can use stamped concrete to improve their business's curb appeal.
