If you've recently purchased a new home and the concrete driveway is stained and unsightly, you can stain the concrete instead of replacing it. There are a lot of benefits to having the concrete professionals stain the concrete around your home, and its budget friendly.
The concrete professionals (such as Southwest Coating Solutions) will first come and power wash the driveway, trying to remove all of the debris before they put on the stain. Here are just a few of the reasons you want to consider concrete stain.
Concrete is Long Lasting
A concrete path or driveway is going to outlast other driveway materials, like asphalt. The driveway should last for decades, and sealing the stain will help keep it new. The concrete isn't going to wear or get damaged by water, and you don't have to worry about it getting damaged by heavy items. It also won't melt when the weather is hot.
Customize the Stain
You can have the driveway stained in a variety of ways. You can have it stained a solid color, so it looks like it did when it was brand new, or you can have it stained to create a different appearance. You can have it look like wood planks, bricks, tiles, or you can put a custom emblem on the concrete. You can add a decorative border around the edges of the driveway, and you can alter your walkways to match your driveway if you want.
Reduce Construction Time
If you were going to tear out the concrete driveway to replace it, you are adding days or weeks onto the project. The old concrete would have to be removed and hauled away, and the ground would have to be prepped all over again. Once the ground was prepped, the concrete professionals would have to pour and smooth the new driveway, or you would have to wait for an asphalt company to show up. Staining the concrete allows you to keep your old driveway, lowering labor costs.
The driveway is one of the first things that people see when they drive up to your home, so you want to make sure that they get a great first impression. I own a small office building, and recently, I was looking for ways to improve the building's exterior. I felt that the whole office was very plain and lacked curb appeal. I want clients and business contacts to be impressed by the building and the grounds before they even step through the door. I knew that one thing I definitely needed to do was replace the crumbling walkway. I called a concrete contractor about fixing the walkway, and was impressed when he told me that I could actually make it look like a brick pathway, using stamped concrete. I decided to go for it, and it made a big difference in the appearance of the outside of the office. I think that more people should be aware of how they can use stamped concrete to improve their business's curb appeal.
